Let’s Talk with Kat, is

an independent interview series delivering in-depth conversations with people at the center of nationally followed stories, public cases, and cultural moments. The series looks beyond the headline to explore the people behind major criminal, cultural, and news events, particularly stories that continue to capture public attention long after the initial media cycle.

One of my most widely viewed interviews, with Crystal Mangum, surpassed 100,000 views, went viral, and led to national media coverage, including an appearance on CNN. I have also interviewed Michael Peterson of The Staircase and Mark Tinsley, the attorney involved in the Alex Murdaugh case. These conversations have strengthened my interest in the space between public narrative and personal experience.

My background in fashion, editorial, and creative media has deeply shaped my approach to storytelling. I worked as an assistant designer to John Galliano at Christian Dior in Paris, an experience that exposed me to an extraordinary level of visual discipline, creativity, and performance. I also modeled for leading publications including Vogue and Elle, and was photographed by Peter Lindbergh for a Yohji Yamamoto advertising catalog and by Steven Meisel for a Versus campaign styled by Edward Enninful. 

Born in Ukraine and raised between Europe and the United States, I bring a naturally international perspective and a curiosity about people whose backgrounds and experiences differ from my own. I am currently studying journalism at UNC’s Hussman School of Journalism and Media while independently producing Let’s Talk with Kat.

What defines Let’s Talk with Kat is not simply the caliber of its guests, but the way I approach them: direct questions, genuine curiosity, and a focus on the human experience behind the public narrative. I am interested not only in what happened, but in the person behind the story, and in the moments that rarely make it into the headline.
